Today, the 23rd October is a national holiday to honor and remember loved great king, King Rama V and King Chulalongkorn.
The day is known in Thai as' Wan Piyamaharaj day. "This is the memorial day of King Chulalongkorn, who initiated several important reforms in Thailand, in areas such as the Thai education system, military affairs and national railway. Most of all, the king abolished slavery, without leading to bloodshed.
Government officials and Thais across the country to remember the great king that pays homage to the statue or portrait in ceremonies held in all provinces.
The nation joins the rest of the Thais remember our great king.
